Theatre of War 2: Kursk 1943 is a new game in the Theatre of War series of tactical World War II titles. Theatre of War 2 is considered to be one the most realistic simulations of modern battle ever played on a PC. The Battle of Kursk lasted for forty nine days, from July 5 till August 23, 1943 and has made its way into history as one of the most crucial conflicts of WWII. It was the last strategic offensive the Germans were able to mount in the east. The resulting decisive Soviet victory gave the Red Army the strategic initiative for the rest of the war. From the first moment of the battle until the very last shell is fired players will be in charge of whichever side they choose. Players will have to carefully plan each conflict and work both tactically and strategically. The accomplishment of an objective will affect the outcome of the entire battle, for instance the player’s detachment will move forward to the next battle, and so will their reinforcements, artillery and air support.

A “Break State” is one of the new features of the Final Fantasy XIII battle system. The breaks refer to the times an enemy enters a state of reduced retaliation. This occurs when a chain combo has been maintained for a certain period of time on an enemy, filling a bar to maximum. When a high level combo has been achieved, the enemy will glow red and enter this state, during which the player will be able to inflict high amounts of damage and knock some enemies high into the air. The chain bar will gradually deplete during this period; when it becomes empty, the break state ends.
