With Machete preparing to assault UK cinema screens, a feature-length trailer has arrived for the similarly violent Hobo With A Shotgun, director Jason Eisener’s debut film due out in 2011.
Like Robert Rodriguez’s Machete, Hobo With A Shotgun originally appeared in some edits of Grindhouse as one of several pastiche trailers. Now a fully-fledged movie in its own right, the great Rutger Hauer stars as the titular Hobo, a gun-wielding angel of vengeance who, for reasons that aren’t yet clear, embarks on an extraordinarily bloody rampage.
The film looks like the kind of straight-to-video gorefest you’d rent on a whim from your local corner shop in the 80s, and is all the better for having Hauer in the starring role. His delivery of “If you grow up here… maybe you’ll end up like me,
